메추리알 장조림 Korean style quail eggs

Main ingredients

-20 quail eggs (+2+1/2  cups of water +1/2 teaspoon of salt)

-7 garlic cloves

-1 tablespoon of hot green pepper cut in little cubes

-1 tablespoon of hot red pepper cut in little cubes

 

Ingredients for broth

-2/3 cup of water

-1 kelp (2.5X2.5 cm)

-2 or 2+1/2 tablespoons of soy sauce

-1/2 tablespoon of sugar

-1/2 tablespoon of cooking wine

 

Directions

1. Place the 20 quail eggs in cold water. This will prevent the eggs from breaking while boiling them.

2. In a saucepan put 2+1/2 cups of water, the quail eggs and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and boil for about seven minutes on medium.

3. After they have boiled, place the eggs in cold water and let them for a couple of minutes, then peel off the eggshells.

4. Prepare the seven garlic cloves and cut in little cubes the green and the red hot peppers so that you obtain one tablespoon of each.

5. In order to make the broth, put 2/3 cup of water, the garlic cloves, 2-2+1/2 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of salt, 1/2 tablespoon of cooking wine and the kelp in a saucepan and boil for 2 minutes, then remove the kelp.

6. Add the eggs and let boil for seven minutes on medium to high, then add the hot peppers and let  boil for three more minutes. Enjoy!
